Far Cry 4 Arena Master is more than just a mobile game. It’s actually an extension of the Far Cry 4 game, and Arena Master can be linked to your main game’s progress and send custom challenges to your friends. Don’t fret though, even if you’re not playing Far Cry 4, this game is still playable and fun. Remember though, the premise is quite brutal, and though some game pundits compared it to raising Pokemon, it isn’t a cute game at all. The game is made by Ubisoft, and they certainly took a page out of Rockstar Games’ book. GTA V had a companion app, called iFruit, wherein you can raise and train your dog. Although Arena Master is far in comparison, Ubisoft definitely followed the concept.

Anyway, Far Cry 4 Arena master may be more brutal than its mother game. Like what we said earlier, you can compare it to Pokemon, though the cute pocket-sized monsters will be replaced by trigger-happy mercenaries and bloodthirsty and food-deprived animals. They are then housed in your barracks, wherein you can manage them, their abilities, and prepare them for coliseum style battles for the entertainment of the crowd. It’s not exactly setting a good example in terms of plot and in setting a higher example, but we’ll take it nonetheless.

As you progress through the game, you will be able to unlock more cages with money or by paying premium. That said, we’re not exactly sure whether it would be best to build a mercenary army forced to fight in coliseums, or to raise bears, rhinos, and dogs to be pitted against guys with guns. It’s a bloody and barbaric game, and the tutorial emphasizes it from the start, since you will be sending out rabid animals to fight against an armored clad fighter armed with a gun in it. “Recruiting” animals and pit fighters is easy: all you need to do is send in your workers to do the job. There’s a risk that they might not come back however, since the Far Cry 4 world is an extremely dangerous place.

In terms of visuals and presentation, Far Cry 4 Arena master looks decent for a mobile game. As you progress throughout the game, your world map based on the mother game will expand, showing certain locations you can visit in the game. Moreover, the user interface is pretty understandable, and the tutorial guides you throughout the entire process. There is a steep learning curve, but you’ll be able to go through it without any problems.

The main draw of Far Cry 4 Arena Master are the arena battles, wherein you can pick the fighters you’ll send into the big stage. The fights carry on for multiple rounds, and you get to select a the units you’ll send into battle beforehand. Progression is easy and straightforward. As you improve, you will be able to unlock and recruit stronger units.

Far Cry 4 Arena Master isn’t exactly a game built for a younger audience. However, even if you haven’t played Far Cry 4 before, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try this out. All you have to do is create a Ubisoft account (the game will bug you to do so) and you’ll be all set.
