Empires & Allies is a very interesting game right off the bat, since it focuses on placing us in a realistic battle against nations. Simply put, you enter a world where corruption and chaos is all around, and you have to stop everything. All you need to do here is to create your own base and recruit soldiers in order to regain control over the world.

The game is simple and fun, all you have to do is to bring in the best base possible, as this will allow you to either win or lose, depending on the way you play. This game was nicely designed right off the bat, with the base and all of those buildings looking really well. You basically get all the normal strategies you usually want to see in a game, as you have a limited space to build and you have to be very creative in this regard. Still, the game does a great job when it comes to providing you with a lot of building variety, as you do have resource buildings and others that are more focused on defense.

Once you design your city and recruit your army, it’s time to put it to the test. The title does a great job in creating a game world and a world map that’s identical to earth, so the game will feel indeed very familiar and fun all the time. There will be stuff like alliances if you want, sure, but most of the time you will engage other persons and try to annihilate them in any way you might want. There are also dynamic battlefields which means that no two battles are the same, which is insanely cool, and at the same time you can deploy your troops in any way you want.

The troop variety here is nice as you can have both vehicles like tanks and commandos or simple soldiers if you want, there are no restrictions whatsoever as the game does a great job in keeping them distinct. Of course, the battles are the most important element here, and they are close to perfection. They did a great job in bringing a realistic feel to the battles and they do feel alive for sure. They can be better, of course, but overall the game does a wonderful job in being distinct and fun when you play, so that’s all that matters really.

Graphically, Empires & Allies is very intense and even if the color tone suits the war theme, it’s definitely a one of a kind tone that you can rarely see in similar games.

Overall, Empires & Allies is a wonderful action game with a lot of cool gameplay opportunities. Playing online against others is wonderful, and even if the game is similar to Clash of Clans and other titles, it does hold its own thanks to the great theme. It’s a good game, well worth a try if you are into war themed games.
